541 East Delavan Avenue – Project Rainfall

Construction Management

The Buffalo Urban Development Corporation (BUDC) contracted with 34 Group as construction manager for the renovation of the 40,000 square-foot building at 541 East Delavan Avenue, which was formerly part of the Houdaille Industries complex.  The project will result in leasable space for Project Rainfall, which is intended to be a "social enterprise" focused on food and wellness, with a goal of improving nutrition in inner-city neighborhoods.

As construction manager, 34 Group has been responsible for all pre-construction and construction activities on Phase I with a construction value of $3,500,000.  The work includes five different trades.  Historic preservation and coordination with NY SHPO have also been a part of this project.  34 Group has specifically worked with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery on removal and preservation of items from the abandoned structure.
