Northland Workforce Training Center

Construction Management and Services

34 Group was partnered with Gilbane Building Company for the renovation of a long vacant factory on Northland Avenue.  The factory was developed into a workforce training center to advance the economic well-being of Western New York by developing and maintaining a skilled and diverse workforce to meet the needs of the advanced manufacturing and energy sectors.

A significant public process was conducted as part of the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) consultation effort conducted in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  This effort resulted in a Memorandum of Agreement signed by the project partners and SHPO to engage in several historic interpretation efforts to commemorate the importance of the Corridor to the development of Buffalo.

34 Group provided construction management and superintendent support to Gilbane throughout the project.  In addition, 34 Group self-performed general conditions work, carpentry, painting, flooring, material handling, painting, and millwork.
